The decision to cancel was an easy one, and the right one; it's just a tough pill to swallow.
Let's see, do I endanger the lives of family and friends which could have exponential consequences or do I throw caution to the wind and have a kick ass party?
Seems like a simple choice from this chair.
Another way of looking at it:
Six degrees of separation is the idea that all people are six, or fewer, social connections away from each other. Also known as the 6 Handshakes rule. As a result, a chain of "a friend of a friend" statements can be made to connect any two people in a maximum of six steps.
With this in mind, to me it seems inevitable that this would further spread the virus with such a diverse group of people coming from a variety of locations.
85K and counting. Easy decision, just hard to take.

Thanks all.  I was pretty sure I'd cancel a couple weeks ago, but I kept it open to see if I could get enough signups to make the gear and send it out.  I should've just closed it right when I felt that it wasn't a good idea - because I don't want to give people the wrong impression.

I hope to plan now to make my first GS event for next year.  Gonna meet you and fish on the appointed day and be stoked.

I believe that at the heart of all of our fishing is soulfulness.  We are looking for ways to help us understand our purpose in life, and sharing our experiences and exploits in the outdoors helps us to relate to each other.  The best in us often comes out as a result of these interactions - both between us and Nature and between ourselves.  Everyone expresses their feelings differently, but everyone has feelings.  This place, NCKA, has provided over 15 years of discovery for me regarding myself, others, Nature, feelings...  Life is about connecting, and everything we can do to increase our connections is vital to our purpose.

Hello Eric, was looking on attending this year’s tournament. But like others, restrictions have been placed on my movement, in order to protect myself and my family and my community. I would also like to  donate my entrance fees to Shelter Cove preservation. There will always be another year. Hopefully I will be given the opportunity to fish later in this year.
