I tried to see if the Post Office would donate a roll of stamps.....NOT!

In their defense, they were probably confused by the request because nobody has used a stamp or mailed a letter in the last 10 years  :smt003

Isis would probably be super pissed at the amount of refi offers, credit cards and coupons for pork products I get every week.  :)

I try to live in the present and not the past. If a company provides a good product and good after sale support that is all I expect. The only people who get free handouts are the Waltons, Koch Brothers, Mitt Romney, and the rest of the ubber rich who get billions in government subsidies and tax breaks.

Corporations will often tap their suppliers for free products and services for their events and this is treated as a cost of doing business and no big deal. It may be called a marketing or promotional allowance but it is still demanding money for one to continue to sell to them.

For fishing related events Nikon would be the poorest choice I can imagine. I would be talking to Penn and Shimano and Ocean Kayak and Hobie and similar large corporations that sell to the same people that are going to be attending the event. This should be common sense.

When it comes to providing after sale support, Nikon is head and shoulders above Canon. I have shot professionally with both systems and Nikon has provided repairs almost overnight whereas Canon stonewalls about defects for months. After a year of not having the autofocus problems resolved with my Canon 1d Mark III cameras I switched to Nikon in 2008 and never looked back. The switch cost me over $15,000 but I had the tools I needed to produce work for my clients. Last Friday I sent a lens to Nikon for modification and it is already on its way back to me with the changes made. Nikon also provides a 5-year warranty on its lenses which is 4 years longer than one gets from Canon.

Glen was most likely reaching out to Nikon Optics for hunting related product ... not fishing.
