What to do when a seal does this?

I don't think you should start feeding the wild life.  Next thing you know they will be all over us.

I've done the "gentle push" and the "whack the water next to them".
both have worked for me.

Push or whack it with your paddle. Bad idea to have them associate us with free fish.

I would toss it a small rockfish....then it would tell two friends, and so on,,,and so on. Then they all would know to hassle the SIS Kayaks instead of the SOT ones.

Sorry, but that's got to be one of the stupidest animal interactions I've seen in awhile.

I don't think it would have come anywhere near me.

An animal that is capable of easily injuring or killing a human (but doesn't know it!) needs to know that we don't want it near us.

When I see GWS I plan to simultaneously turn on the video and cuss it out to the extreme.

Seals usually only get the cussing.

If those guys had 5 limits for five guys on that table and none of them were chewed up by a seal then we all know that one or more of them took over a limit.

it will be OK.....they are animals too......dont take a limit if you feed one to the seal. This one did not take a fish...it must have known the regs and that it would be the end of the world as it knew it.

That small pup eventually becomes a full grown one, desensitize them to humans and there will be ramifications. No different than a cub.

  I know somebody that broke the regs last month out at dux. A seal was eating a salmon and they trolled over to it and netted it. It was in perfect shape, just the head was gone. Went from one fish in the box to two.  I didn't know they eat the head first.

Kinda like welfare
