Checked out the Granite Bay trails on Tues.
Nice easy singletrack with no hard climbs and a few technical sections.
Nice views of a practically empty Folsom Lake.
Good ride for out of shape geezers like yours truly :smt044

I'm going to suggest checking those out to my wife. She has been doing some riding out at deer creek hills when they have it opened on Mondays.

I'm a regular MTB-er.  Ride a Giant Trance X-4, fully suspended with 5 inches of travel.  I ride trails in/around Fort Bragg about 3 days week.  If anyone wants to ride up here, send me a PM.  We've got awesome trails--and more than anyone could ride in 10 years.

This past Monday was the final day for Deer Creek and my wife closed it down with a bang!! She took pretty good spill on a downhill. They had to bring in the EMTs to get her off of the trail. Been at UC Davis med center since Monday evening. Broke both bones in her right forearm and got a couple good cuts on her face. Thankfully her helmet helped from further cranial damage. Things like this always remind me how much safer it is to ride with a helmet on.

Thanks. I haven't seen what the helmet looked like after the wreck. Dr was talking 3-4 month recovery. I still have my helmet, but may invest in the motocross style for her next mtb helmet.

Thanks guys. She is a trooper and come through this with flying colors. I might have to throw a tow rope on her kayak and pull her around behind me for a while though.

Trooper doesn't fit, she sounds like a "bad ass!"  Hope she has a speedy recovery and gets back on the trails. Makes me sick to my stomach to hear about crashes like this, especially a wife!

So my wife had her follow up with the surgeon today. We had already taken the stitches out on Monday, and she can move everything great. Dr says she has some kind of superhuman healing powers.

So, superhuman healing powers, and they have started plating bones with metal....

I might be married to Weapon-X!!!
