I have the 7' ML.

As a guy who fishes with mono, this rod feels like a limp noodle to me. Can't feel a thing. Miss lots of strikes... Etc.

If you are a braid user, you will probably like it a lot more than I do.

I'm keeping it around because my GF likes using it (it's very light).

Maybe I'll give braid another try some time, but you know... If it ain't broke...

Haha! What, you don't let your GF handle your rod for you?

Well my rod came in.   Im glad i ordered the medium.  Seems to have the perfect weight and feel to it.  I cant wait to jig for rockfish.

Id only with they make it 7ft.  I almost feel bad i dont have a nice low profile reel to match it.  Although it seems the tr100 reel will work fine.

Thanks for all the feedback.

Well now you will have an excuse to move that TR100G onto a lighter action 8 foot bait stick rod and make it your salmon mooching/cal halibut/striper rod/reel set up. The reel shines in that application.

I own two sets of the TR100 and TR200 reels. Love them. Maybe it's just me (using mono line), but I have had nothing but heartache with bigger lingcod on that reel. The unstoppable power dive into the rocks and then snap....

Maybe the outcome would be a little different with braid. I don't know. Good for most rockfish though.

Congrats on the new rod.

7ft med ugly stick single piece for the salt for me. I think it is great all around. When I want to have fun I bring the 7ft ugly stick spinning rod, M fast.  Its my Bass rod, but the light tackle makes Rockfish even more fun.
I only fish on days that end with Y

As i said.  My plan was to get a ugly stick tiger lite.  Until i grab the trevalla for a feel.  Just the overall quality and lightness of the pole made me steer towards one.  I really did not plan on spending double the amount.  But i also have a few rods they are all im the 30 dollar range. However when i fish i trnd to use my lamiglass because i like the feel.

I did get to test it out today. Caught many sanddabs and mackerel.  I even had a accidental double hookup twice on rockfish. They were on sabiki rig.  I really like the pole.  The action is great and i feel a m is perfect for the fishing I plan on dojng.
