Hi Folks,
First time poster. Thanks for the great forum!
I work for Jackson Kayak and I am doing a little bit of research on shark vs kayak angler incidents. Nothing sensationalist, just trying to understand the scale of the issue or if there even is an issue.
Looking at the 'official' reports that I can find it would suggest that the problem is fairly small but real all the same.
I would love to get first-hand information on any incidents involving sharks acting aggressively towards kayak anglers. Also if you know of good sources of this information I would appreciate the lead.
Please email ([email protected]) me or reply to this thread.
Thanks!
Sean

Oh, it's real.
And a sensitive subject that has been discussed thoroughly on here, so please tread lightly.

Hi Sean.  There are several members here who have experienced what you're referring to, and their stories are largely told in the forums.  My suggestions are to spend a bit of time getting to know the forum and some members, get a few posts under your belt, and once you have full access to all posts use the search feature to fill yourself in.  It will take a huge amount of browsing and reading, and you should feel free to get sucked in to the stories and the people as they come across in the threads.  There's a lot happening here, and the folks who experienced the shark attacks may not be wanting any kind of questions or interviews.  Take it easy and please respect the guys who have stories to tell.

Welcome to NCKA.   :smt001

What's happening Sean.
If you attend the Albion Open this year, I'll introduce you to a few of the guys who have experience with the landlord.

If you really want some great first hand info, fish the San Mateo County coast...Or just do like the other guys suggested.

I believe 3 members from CCKF have been attacked too. If you want to expand your research to include the central coast region.

Sharks taste like pee.
Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.
