A little TMI to post on the internet IMO. Not EVERYONE who reads NCKA is a family member if ya get my drift.

+1 public forums aren't the place to give out that info.  Thieves are salivating for easy pickings like that.

December 20, 2010 someone broke into my truck breaking my window out and breaking my dash. stealing my stereo, subwoofer, amp, iPod, an wallet that had my social security card in it. They were never caught. Now I have like 10 safety things on my credit and identity so no one can screw me over.

To demonstrate that, I went up to the mail box at the street and fired a round of 12 gauge 00 buck.  I then asked my neighbors if they had heard the shot.  None had, even the guy directly across the street and closest to the mail box.

.....and then you told him it was HIS mailbox?  :smt006

I have had tweakers steal out of my garage when I lived in hawaii, and once my father in-law found a guy sleeping in his lexus!
The house was in a residential neighborhood, so this might not help for those who live on a bit of land, but the dogs we had were great at making noise when people got too close, and talking with the neighbors got most on the block engaged and looking out for each other.

Knowing who "should" be in the area and who "should not" makes a huge difference, IMO. It makes my wife and I feel a lot better where we live in sf now.

Placerville needs to start swinging again. And I'm
Not talking about sex parties! The tweak is out of control there, and I know this because I have lost a few friend to that scene in that town.
 I live in mid town Sacramento and leave my truck unlocked and windows down if not raining. I also keep nothing in my truck I don't want stolen.
My thought is as a mechanic the last thing I want to do is spend my weekend replacing my window.
The house has a 95 lbs black lab with a good bark. He hates when people are on his block.
I need a trespassers will be reduced to a pink mist sign.

I do think Placerville went overboard with their homeless camp project where they set up a place for tweakers to camp and live.  It attracted a LOT of tweakers to the area.  Totally destroyed the bike trail up near that end of town to where people walking the trail were being attacked in broad daylight.
Maybe that's what is scattering out into the surrounding communities, they closed down the camp.

I work right by the start of the opening up -end of houses-to highway one /big sur proper...there was about 15 sets of separate sirens around 3:45 today whizzing by the estate as I was cleaning up from work... and I mean flying down the road..I get off at 4:30 and the sheriffs are going by doing 90 headed south ..three cars in a row--flying...I was nervous to pull out onto the road...get to point lobos and here comes two more...flying --- all lit up...then carmel crossroads...more go by...super fast...dusting the road sides......6:20 we are leaving to monterey and down  the carmel hwy 1 hill  goes more sheriffs and a big ass swat tactical armored car...

robbers...they had the whole county armed and responding.....as of now they say they caught one ,killed one...somewhere by palo colorado and are not letting folks up the canyon till 2 a.m...may have changed by now

Linda's car was broken into in front of our house a while back. They got a bag paint, and texture medium for acrylic paints. With any luck the burglar has renounced theivery and started a career as a modern artist :smt003.  Our solution has been to stop leaving stuff in our cars. Oh, I also park a stripped out game warden truck in my driveway every once in a while.

Haha. Location is everything. Havn't locked my house in 25 years. Don't have a key. As for internet thieves, if they know where the Drippin Chicken is, bring it on. All my neighbors have more guns than Browning and like to kill stuff...................... :smt004
So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains, where the spirits go...........

Funny you should mention that, Kayote.  Problem wasn't at my house and perhaps for good reason.  I shoot guns.  Regularly and right off my back porch.  My neighbors are all transplants from either the bay area or country clubs.  I had one call a few weeks ago.  Wife answered the phone.  Neighbor asked her, 'is he drunk again?  I hear all that shooting and brought the kids inside so they would be safe.  I'd like to be able to let them play outside.'  Wife told neighbor to come on over and tell him yourself, I'm not going back there!!  Haw!!

I'm pretty sure neighbors leave me alone because they are a little concerned about my mental stability.  I foster that impression.  Not just with shooting, but pulling long wheelies with my KX250 motocross bike one handed and a baseball cap on backwards.  They really are in awe when I tell them I go fishing on the open ocean in my kayak!!!  Ha!!!

I was digging gate post holes yesterday in prep to install driveway gates.  Neighbor walking by asked what I was up to.  I told 'em I caught the pole cat who was breaking into cars and needed to dig a hole.  Maybe I'll post a sign next to the hole;

Other no trespassing signs I like;

I want this one in spanish/english;

From the movie "Deliverance"

Gotta think about this one a little....
