The T-120 UL has been around for a quite a while. They also make a few other light weight 18' 50lb kayaks from fiberglass and other composites.

Hobie explains their "new way to fish".  I was very interested to see this, but was a little disappointed.  Its just an AI. I'm not discrediting the AI; I am very excitedly saving the cash to convert my Adventure to Island status. I'm just saying that there is nothing really new about this...

Yeah, it's an old way to fish here in NorCal, but apparently unheard of in many parts of the country.

Full press release ... http://www.kayakfishingmagazine.net/articles/325-in-the-news/1757-hobier-mirager-islands-a-new-way-to-fish.html

Note, I'm still hearing whispers of something "new" at OR next week.

I'm really hoping to see some other brands take a crack at the peddle drive system.

I don't think you'll see a new pedal system at OR ... I could be wrong.

What I was referring to is a new Hobie model.  Whispers, whispers, whispers ... we'll see.

The new hobie model will have 4 pontoons & you will be suspended between it all with the same 'ol Mirage Drive.  They'll call it the water spider.
