Two designs I'd like to see is have the mirage fins tuck into a recess in the hull so they don't get caught in kelp and have a much larger front hatch so I COULD EASILY STOW THE MIRAGE DRIVE when I wanted.
Other than that I'm happier paying attention to my fishing than a whole bunch of new gadgets.

Tarpon UL is made from high impact acrylic and ABS. Now you know.

The acrylic coating doesn't add anything to the impact strength.   it's a very thin layer bonded to the ABS sheet to give it UV protection and that "shine", much like a clear coat adds to a cars finish.

ABS is great for it's strength to weight ratio.   plus it glues ( repairs ) well if needed.   Same stuff I mold my hatches with.

Wish I had a Raptor in thermo-form.    thing would weigh in it at 50 lbs..
Sometimes the fish isn't the only prize.

The UL Tarpon weighs in at 43 lbs. 20 lbs lighter than it identical twin in Poly. That weight savings would be nice in other kayaks.

No I do not have one. I don't have room for any more kayaks right now. I was told to stop at 5 by my wife.

yeah me and rob were talking about the T120 UL before, how it came out several years before the eddyline that is so popular now and is about the same weight, length and price.  However the T120UL never seemed to catch on at least in discussion, while the Carribean seems to be a fairly hot boat now.

I think that Wildy hasn't really had much in the way of exposure out here in NCAL until maybe recently.

I just want a 2014 OK Scupper pro, with updated hatch layout.   :smt012  Too bad it's never gonna happen.

I'm dreamin' about a Scupper Pro Ultra Lite. May have to settle for an import...

When looking at kayaks like the Eddyline and the T120 UL, what grabbed my attention first is that Eddyline has been making thermoform kayaks since1994. They have a reputation with the material they use, all of their kayaks are thermoform. Once more thermoform SOT kayaks are made, other brands will become more of an option is my guess.

Maybe the highly-secretive Hobie folks have perfected the hush-hush caterpillar drive from Hunt for Red October  :smt044

Whatever it is, Hobie likes to stay on the cutting edge and we all benefit from their innovation.

I am glad I paddled for 6 years before I got a Hobie because unlike you Hobie hacks I know how to paddle forward AND reverse.  :smt044

Quest owners know how to paddle, but for the rest of them it could be trouble!

Raptor sot with some sort of peddle drive that uses a prop instead of fins.  that gives you built in reverse, decent tracking and stability and goes through surf.
