I think Jimgosc uses the Thule Hullivator to get his yak on the RV? Looked like a cool setup last time I saw it.

It looks cool, but it also adds to the height of the RV. Jimgosc drove his Hullivator and kayak into a low lying branch at GS6.

they should know better and have the limbs trimmed :smt012  that makes 2 mine at GS5  you figure it's a campground all kinds of rigs pulling through...that's why when It happened I was like WTF :smt005

I'm wanting the hullivatoir on my lance cept I need to push a "button" and it exstends all the way to where "I" can put it into that sweet little cradle...than push a button again and Bamb...no more wondering if I'm going to take a 10' nosedive off my camper :smt005

we need someone to fab it...Iroelikethat????

I think you may need a trucker license to tow a trailer behind a 5th wheel. better check with DMV website.

Only if you exceed a certain length... He already done his research.
you sure? I thought you had to have a class A with a doubles and triples endorsement.

Hi Scott,
Like you, I didn't want to pull a trailer, or go 55, so I added a set of racks and Hullivators to my RV roof. I finally convinced Winnebago to send  the framing drawings so I could find the best mounting points, and used aluminum backing plates for added support. There's not much in the way of framing, it's pretty much a giant styrofoam cooler with a little L metal on the edges. With the Hullivators down, the cradles are still about 7.5' off the ground so I use a 6' ladder to get the kayak up. I can get it up/down OK alone, but I am 6'5", maybe an 8' ladder would help.  Once on the cradles it's a piece of cake. I also added tie-down points front and rear, to take the stress off the roof.
The added height isn't a problem, 11'8" with the kayak on, well below any bridges/wires/etc. The Shelter Cove limbs were all my bad, combination of distracted driving and cobwebs caused by the awesome party called the 'Gimme Shelter'.
I'll be at HMB for the crab opener, Crabfest, and I'm trying to make the Ocean Cove event at the end of the month, if you want to check it out.

That's awesome Jim.  That methods is what I was thinking but really wasn't wanting to screw into the roof.  I'll have to check yours out at Crabfest.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

I have heard that, but also heard from a few others (even an owner of a RV park) that it is legal with: no one piece longer than 28', total length not longer than 62', and not over10 tons. My 5th wheel is only 24' and the yak trailer would have my P15. The problem is that I can't seem to find anything in writing that says YES or No.

Just verified this with a friend who is a commercial vehicle enforcement officer. If you are going to tow two trailers, you can't be over 65' and you need a class A license with a doubles and triples endorsement. Also if the GVWR on your 5th wheel is over 15k lbs you need a non comm. class A. 10k for a travel trailer. Hope this helps.
