Dads are great to have along when you're landing a big fish like that. Mine passed away in 1978 but he's till giving me instructions every time I go out.

Thanks guys for the kind words.  It means alot me.  My dad was my best fishing buddy for almost 40 years.  Taught me alot about fishing and life in general.  I am very lucky to have such a wonderful dad like him.  He will definately be missed.

Thanks for the great report, Eugene. Talk about a cool way to remember your father--while catching a salmon from your yak! Congrats on a fat salmon too.

I'm glad for you Eugene.
My dad also got me into fishing. Looking back he didn't really know all the techniques but who cares,  He got me hooked.
Thanks for sharing :smt007

Nice fish. Its great to hear that our fathers made a positive impact on our lives when alot of kids will never know that. We are the fortunate ones. I lost my Dad 7 years ago and it feels like last week still. My Dad was a sailor. He loved the water. Thanks for reminding me of the love.

That salmon is fantastic. By the red can?

Congrats on the great day on the water. Your dad will always be an instructor of fishing, he had great patience and always amazed me on his hook-up ratio. He was with you then and will continue to watch over, bless, and protect you on the water.

Man you crushed it, great job!   I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad...  He will always be with you in spirit to help land the big one.   Keep up the good work and keep your family traditions alive!
