:smt044 :smt005 :smt044 Define "Drunk"

chasin a seal tryin to get a piece of a$$ would be drunk haha
Its an interesting question. I called the Sonoma County Sheriffs Dept, who also has boats on Lake Sonoma, and I was told that yes indeed you would be cited and arrested for being drunk on a watercraft. The deputy was very adamant about it. Then I suppose the real question is, how drunk is drunk for you?

You guys are talking about beer, but you know, you can get just as drunk on water...
You can get just as drunk on water
As you can get on dry land.

No clue about the laws but on the RF opener last year DFG rolled up while I was sippin' away on a 32 of bud ice. They didn't say anything to me about the open container. I wasn't drunk though.

As far as safety I occasionally drink in calm saltwater and never solo. I have been known to partake in freshwater if it's not freezing outside. Overall I think one would have to be seriously hammered for it to be an issue. Like so hammered you forget you took the dry bag out and you see it drifting by open and half full of water. :smt044

Yeah...and even with the floating bars I did not see anyone drunk and dangerous out on the water...now, once we got back to shore that was a different thing.

 :smt002

All kidding aside...like Mooch said this is a sensitive issue for a lot of people, and understandably so...and NONE of us want to see anybody get hurt or get in trouble, or put someone else in danger.

IMO, bottomline is that we are all adults and we should be able to get out there and have fun and take responsibility for our own actions.

Jim
