Those are gnarly pics Randall!

somewhere I have a pic of a pair of moose skulls with entangled antlers I came across in Denali park.
The scavengers had scattered the skeletons, but the skulls were right there on a river bar. My buddy & I sat for a while thinking about how those two huge animals fought & died, eyeball-to-eyeball, attached by their weapons until the wolves got them.

Nature can be so gnar.

Great Pictures Juan. I always get the feeling something is watching me while up there....now I know they are. Can't wait to see the next set of "feeding" photos.

Because it's the hunters word agains the (dead) cat's.
How easy would it be for an unscrupulous hunter to claim the cat came out of nowhere to attack him and his only defense was to shoot the cat?
Guys like that would only bring their bow for show.

Just go fishing Pocket Fisherman and a .44

There is a California Penal Code law that allows anglers to carry a gun while fishing and while hiking to and from their angling site. California Penal Code, section 12025 prohibits carrying concealed firearms in California, however, section 12027 provides the following exemption to this prohibition: “Licensed hunters or fishermen carrying pistols, revolvers or other firearms capable of being concealed upon the person while engaged in hunting or fishing, or transporting those firearms unloaded when going to or returning from the hunting or fishing expedition.” Remember that some areas that allow fishing, such as state and national parks, and some incorporated areas where fishing is allowed prohibit the possession of any firearm. Make sure to check on the local laws where you plan to fish. The California Bureau of Firearms in the Department of Justice posts a summary of California firearm laws online at http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/.

I will never forget a few years back, fishing at Lake Sonoma, at the camp-ground near the Island and floating bathroom, there was a group camping there with a bunch of kids. Everyone was down at the shore swimming and playing. One of the little kids got into a scrap with another kid and was taken back up the hill to camp, apparently for a time-out. He was left to sit by himself at the picnic table. Needless to say, the escorting parent came back down figuring that the child was perfectly safe as the only people there were from their group, so no strangers. Of-course at this point the child was having a tantrum, crying and yelling as kids often do when they are given a time-out. I thought to myself how oblivious many people are to the fact that there is a very healthy population of mountain lions in our woods. I was at least 1/4 mile away and could hear the child very well. I started to motor over with the trolling motor to at least give the adults a heads up that there are lions around the lake, but before I got there, the child was allowed to return to the group. Though nothing happened, I do not doubt that the crying and distress would have easily attracted the attention of any predators in that area.

Found this pic and it reminded me of your thread. Had to post it.
Hope you never run across this thing in your hunting spot.

Could it be Jonesz? No doubt. Who gave him that camo?
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

Yup, Way cool shots.  I think I might have to get one of those "Game cameras" I have deer bedding down in my yard all the time, coon, skunk, possums, all travel through and around my yard.  I wonder what I'm not seeing?  Maybe get 2 one for the creek and one for my lower yard?
Video would be cool too!
