Shelter Cove - 4/14/10

Hey Eric - Nice to see you here in the cove.  Here's my report for the 14th.  I launched about 9:45 aparently just ahead of you.  Headed for the Coast Guard buoy to drop a crab pot.  Trolled a watermellon apex at 25' on a downrigger I made up.  The downrigger worked great but no takers.  I droped the crabpot and headed towards the whistle buoy, looking for Eric.  After a couple hours I located Eric and his buddy and trolled around the whistle for some time right with the local charter boat "Bite Me".  Picked up 3 lings trolling herring 25 to 70' deep.  One ling was 26", another 27", hated to release them.  Caught a couple black snapper and had a serious hit at 50' but lost both hooks.  After that I headed back in.  Enjoyed the nice day on the water.  Hope to see you again soon.

   Eric, it's only a matter of time until you will be rewarded.

Nice try Eric! I hope you guys nail em next time. At least you had some action with the rockfish etc.
