All newbs paddling with me better be prepared to flip their yaks on purpose then demonstrate to me that you can flip it back over and get back on.

 :smt044 :smt044  :smt044  Talk about tough love!

Forgot to mention if you lose your shit I charge dive gear recovery fee.

Also for wussies lacking shoulder, arm, and back strength I charge a tow in fee.

It looks like the tides are going to be much better a bit earlier, say 7AM.  I may go out earlier and try to just follow the PBs, but if I see Ariel with a crowd of newbies flailing away behind him, I may join you.  I have a light brown Hobie Adventure (discontinued color) and will be wearing a yellow upper and a big hat.   Did I hear someone say they would be on VHF? What channel?  My info is listed on my profile in case there is an email going around.

I am a Bay newbie but have done some Mendo coast fishing and diving off the yak so maybe that makes me a 90% newbie!

Ugh, charge double - don't like the thought of diving in those muddy waters. We used to swim in the bay occasionally when I was a kid - now the thought of it gives me the creeps!  :smt087

If you can handle the coast, you shouldn't have a problem with the bay. Just check to be sure all your gear is in order and use common sense.

I was told by the guys at Hi's to just go straight out a half mile to where the bottom drops off from 16' to deeper water, and look for fish on the FF.  They said there will be plenty of PB company out there.  If I follow those instructions, am I way far away from you guys?  Would I see you?  It just seems like a 9:00 launch manages to hit slack tide perfectly.  Maybe I would be better off going out with the group, however...

If you like I'll try to be there by 8:00. I'm almost two hours away, stopping for bait, getting lost <g>... so I can't be rock solid. If you want to try, PM me and we can exchange cell numbers.

Thanks for the offer but I just called Ariel and remembered there are a lot of better watermen than me in this club.  I am gonna be a follower tomorrow.  I will launch at 9 with the rest and play it safe.  Next time I go commando...

Oh I hear that. I thought there might be a few that would go earlier. 9's good.
