  Hell yeah I'd like suitable length of bamboo!   Is it necessary to coat the bamboo with varnish?  I know that stuff is tough.  I guess protecting it can't hurt it.  Next time I stop by FW I'll have to pick up a gaff hook.  I'll shoot you a PM!
