Scurvy,
Thanks for the reference to "Flite Test". I just wasted a couple hours there and think I've found a new hobby.

Mo,

That site can be real trouble for me [emoji41]. Lost days, and real potential for developing a serious cash leak....

There are great vids from a couple years ago, when the quads just started exploding onto the scene, but before the FAA regs kicked in. The were doing all kinds of awesome FPV's thru abandoned buildings, and some awesome FPV racing footage. It really made me want to fly.

I don't know if their website is what you were referring to Scurvy, but the flite test guys also have an actual website where you can purchase their kits ridiculously cheap, and the forum has great ideas for foam RC's.

Saw drone being put to good use from beach in Maui this summer.
They were using a piece of painters tape and attaching surf rod line to it and flying it out to the holes they wanted to fish. Quick jerk of line released it.
Have heard of surf fishers using balloons and kites to get baits out beyond casting distance but requires an off shore breeze, this opens up the opportunities and the camera is huge help in pinpointing your drops. ( avoid reefs, weed beds etc)

I try to fly mine as much as I can. But so much electrical interference in the valley, I hate it. Need to get out of town and get some good footage

A man in the south shot a drone down hovering over his backyard taking pictures of his daughter.  Fire fighting aircraft have had to be grounded because idiots are flying their drones over fires - endangering the planes and pilots trying to do their jobs.

Today I do not own a shotgun. The destruction of drones is one reason I might.

State park is legal, national park is a no go. Point cabrillo lighthouse make for some perfect shots,  i have a p3pro and i just fly it from the parking lot because im too lazy to walk.

PS for all you YouTube watcher hit the setting icon and crank up quality to 1080p or higher, i see way to many people watch high good quality video in super blurry quality because they forget to turn up the quality.

The intro is point cabrillo, i have a new video in the making with a time laspe of the lighthouse and is is awsome  deffinantly worth the 3 minutes of hovering.

Crazyfisher, the goggles look very cool. I have a Spark on pre-order and may have to splurge on goggles to explore some of the cliffs on the Sonoma Coast.

A while back I saw a video where they spotted big game fish in Australia using FPV,
then dropped the bait right on them.  Seems it would almost take the fun out of it, like hunting from a helicopter.
