After 3 months of waiting, i finally got it in hand today. I placed an order with amazon and newegg back in Oct. The delivery date kept getting push out every week. From end of Oct, to Nov, to Dec, to Jan, and finally to Feb. Yikes!! Well yesterday I get an alert from bestbuy that they had some in stock. I didn't waste any time and quickly order with a next day delivery. I was expecting a delay delivery after I placed it but figure why not. So having 3 pending order, I got the email yesterday night of a tracking number for today delivery.

I couldn't believe it. I got it this morning and flew it a few hours ago. I'm just speechless on how easy it is to fly. My first flight after charging the battery, I went nervously 2 miles away but the return to home feature return it in almost the exact spot I took off in.

I'm playing with it now but so happy that I finally got it. I went ahead and cancel my amazon order but kept my newegg for delivery in middle of Jan. Just in case someone want it before I return it. That way someone doesn't have to wait.

video is uploading: (big file so it will be up in an hour)

I wonder if the wardens are using these yet.
They have been traildad, especially if you fish at the hard to get spots. I've had one fly over me at bodega also. They camp on bodega head and fly over you.

Just a side question,
Will organizers need to add a clause to the release form about poss filming at events? If so, would that cover before and after event filming?
Some may be upset about privacy issues during their stay at said events.

I had one flying over me as I was harvesting mussels in Pescadero yesterday. Where I was at I was out of everyone's view from the beach.

It was hovering right over me so I flipped em the bird a couple times  :smt097

He finally got the hint and split.

That was hell of intrusive and would've chewed the operator out if I saw them back on the beach. Unless it was a warden of course  :smt002

Check out the YouTube "Flite Test" channel.  They've got all kinds of great drone vids that are about the drones, not just splashy films.  Includes excellent info RE building your own, advocacy, regs, FP gear reviews, suppliers, DIY, etc.

Scurvy,
Thanks for the reference to "Flite Test". I just wasted a couple hours there and think I've found a new hobby.

so much potential in capture different angle. I took it out fishing on the first and got some great footage. Putting it together is a lot of work since its huge files recording in 4k. I'll drop that down so I can process it easier.

More to come

Great video!  I wonder what happen if you floor it, does it go back to the 'home' spot or just keep on following and land somewhere (i.e. road or other places) if it is out of battery/range.

it will try and locate you by either going up higher and scanning the same profile. If it doesn't find you then it will just hover. Then you can tell it to go follow the location of the remote. There are two option for "return to home", 1 it will go back to where it lifted off or it will follow the remote and at that time you can land it.

It has battery intelligent so if it lose signal or low on battery, it will Return to home depending on what you set it too.

I'm jealous!  I want one of these DJI Mavic Pros, but they are tough to find.  I've been checking BestBuy almost daily and they are still waiting for them to come in.  I even checked a local hobby shop today and they said they have been waiting for 20 units to come in since early Dec.

Are you flying it with FPV?  If so, are you using an Iphone or Android device?  I've read on the forums that some people are having issues using their Galaxy S7 phones with the controller.  Just curious.  Thanks for posting the video!

A couple of more. This one was done on my pc however had to lower the quality due to having a tough time processing 4k video. Even then it cut some footage off. Oh well.

This one was done on a macbook pro. I might have to get one. Dang it.

Anyways, nosoupforu, go sign up for the following

https://www.nowinstock.net/

it will email you the instant it comes into stock. I just happen to look at my email that morning and saw it. Once I saw it, I didn't hestiate and purchase it. Anyways I'm using an iphone 7. Some people are doing the goggle which is pretty cool...might have to look into it but have to save my pennies.

I'm having a blast flying this thing...can't wait for the herring run :)
