Fish finder deals?

Picked one up yesterday at West Marine. It also comes with the Nautic Pro chip. 199.00. Great buy. GPS Store.com is only 10.00 less. Sale over February 26th.

The Nautic Pro maps are not as detailed as the Navionics maps, but they're not bad.

The Elite-4/5/7 and the Hook 4/5/7 can use the same transducers.

I had an Elite-4 HDI and an Elite-4 CHIRP; they came from the factory with identical transducers.  The Elite-4 HDI died within warranty and Lowrance replaced it with a HOOK-5 and per Lowrance's technical support advice, I'm using the transducer from the Elite-4 HDI with the HOOK-5 with zero problems.

The list of compatible transducers for each model is on the Lowrance site.

Is the transducer from the elite 4 the same as the hook 4?

Yes, if you have an Elite 4 hdi or chirp. But the older Elite 4 transducer will not work with the Hook 4 units. The older Elite units (basic dual-beam 83/200) have an integrated plug for both transducer and power; while HDI/CHIRP/Hook have 2 seperate plugs. The older Elite 4 screen was also much smaller than the newer units.

So any hook regardless of size screen is the same transducer?
