The weather report for Saturday shows that it may still be a bit bumpy for Linda Mar, but maybe just fine for Pillar Point. Is anyone interested in a Sunday 1/28 session?

Regards,
Scott

Mooch,
I'm off both days, but prefer 3/4. I put in my vote.

Thanks, jonesz

If you really want to get wet sooner, we paddle surf inner Pillar Point every saturday around 8am. The conditions look very promising for tomorrow. You could get as much or little action as you want. The lagoon will be pretty empty by noon, but there will still be some water for practice. If you do go at low tide, a helmut would be more important because of all the rocks that come up.

I first met Tim at Linda Mar a couple years ago.  He was kayak surfing while we were chasing salmon.  Tim probably knows more about kayak surfing than just about anyone on this board.

Excellent to know! If I weren't in a dive class tomorrow, I'd join you. I've got a Necky rip that needs to taste some salt. Some other Saturday.

Sorry guys, I was out of town. I surf in a river boat not unlike a Rip. Last week was really good. No wind and the convenient excellent size, 7 feet at 11 seconds.
If you are a boat from Half Moon Bay, you're really from Pillar Point Harbor.
The famous Mavericks break is outside the point (reef). It's protected inside and we paddle there. We had some 10' faces saturday, but you don't have to paddle out to where they are. The further you go inside, the smaller the reforms are. I had some clean 18" faces on the way in.

We are there every saturday and I don't know where you guys live but if you're picking a date, feb 17 is the day I'm swinging by the Cow Palace on the way home to see our NCKA celebrity brothers. That's gonna be fun, they even have beer. Tim

Haven't heard any specifics from Aquan Sports about Sunday's surf zone class...you know, the basics like where and when and what equipment to bring (or not). Anyone else have an update? I'll probably call them tomorrow.

hey mooch your opening line should be, "hello my name is joel, i am the 2006 ncka CHAMPION!"
and for newbies and oldies,  practicing surf lanching and exiting without $700 worth of gear on your boat is a GREAT idea.  i do that once a year.  also i practice self rescue one day every june in the san leandro marina.  the self rescue is easy when there is no pressure,  however when i was a newbie in '99 i did wash up on the beach at linda mar one day [with my kayak].
