Yes, you betcha I would be making a pass IF I weren't as old as your mother. :smt022 I guess I need to get a copy of "Dating for Dummies" that's written for seniors! Then I need to introduce you to my daughter.  :smt002

But, we digress...

As a kayaker first and one who has taken a surf zone class from the best, a required piece of equipment should also be a helmet.  Getting hit with your boat and/or equipment (or that of fellow paddlers) and, yes, even hitting the water hard can be injurious.  As a matter of fact, in the surf zone class, we weren't allowed to have so much as a water bottle exposed on the deck of the kayak.

Surf zone isn't my cup of tea, but I heartily endorse taking classes or engaging in practice sessions for your safety and that of those on the beach, too. I might be interested in practicing in an SOT but, most likely, would remain an NCKA photographer on the beach!

I keep thinking about that cell phone commercial where the kid calls his fav 5 to get a line for the 2 chics he sees in the fast food place.  He gets a line, but he also gets a soda thrown on him ...

:smt003

You know Mooch, just like you have a confidence lure, you need a confidence line.  Once you have that, you're half way to a limit!!!

 Mooch,
This is a sweet opportunity! Ever surf kayak with a babe on a tandem?    make sure you are in the back, as you start down the face of the wave and it starts to curl, swing the front of the boat into the curling white water. Usually flushes them off and they get the maytag treatment. Swoop in for the rescue, laughter begins, and youre in business.   Let me know if you want to borrow my tandem with the armor all finished seat well.

Pillar Point Lagoon is a good place to practice in the surf. Once you make sure the swells aren't above 6-8 feet, it's normally like a big pond. There can be a two foot dumper, which is good practice for timing, and also spilling one or two footers in the kelp bed that's good practice for surfing and breeching and side surfing. Park by the green pier and paddle and portage in.
By the way, I'm pretty sure this isn't the only website Mooch visits regularly! :smt012

Back to the White Water Goddess rejection  :smt011
I pretty sure Mooch can impress her to the 50% level if he wins the 2007 Mavericks surf contest wipeout award using that big banana!

Just wear your speedos and you won't have to say a thing. :smt005
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

Well I'm glad there is some interest. Mooch, can you do me a favor before you book a date? Could you run it by me. I want to make sure I'm off duty that weekend.  Me being a firefighter and all, I got that goofy schedule and all, so I work some of the weekend days.  :smt002 If you want, I can pm my schedule to you. Just give me a month your looking at and I'll know my schedule. Thanx!

Sounds good. Can you narrow it down to a month or two that your looking at? It would be a little easier for me to send.
Thankx
