Which part failed? Where the cables plug into the FF?

It was the male  end of the battery cable, but it sounds like it is an easy fix, just need to by a new cable.

Hummingbird ff?  If so I believe I have an extra one new in the package at home.  Let me know if you have a Humminbord and I will bring it, I believe I know where it is.

This exact thing happend to surfin dude... ask him what he did... last time out...we warned me about mine and immediately rinsed mine off for me upon return.... what a dude!

With the Lowrance Elite series, the copper pins are on the head unit...so if you break off one of those...you're totally screwed. The transducer/power plug if the female receptacle. I'm STILL trying to remove a broken pin that's stuck inside the transducer plug!!!

I didn't think about putting dielectric grease on the head unit. I will do that today, glad you posted this!
