Get the 65 inch long bars from malone.

Easy to put two fat yaks on top and even a third in the middle on top...

So will the fit kit come off and the bars go on a vehicle with the track? I hate to sound cheap but I know the minute I buy a rack for my car it will break down.

You can think of the Yakima system as five components, all pretty much modular.

Car/towers adapter
Towers (accept one bar style)
Bar
Bar/accessory adapter (some fit multiple bar styles)
Accessory

If you have a bare roof, you'll likely use the Q towers, although fancier versions are available. You'll have to get interchangeable clips that clamp on to the top of your door jambs.

If you switch to a car with a bare roof, you just get new Q clips. If you get a car with tracks, you will need new towers. Towers made for tracks may or may not fit the rounds bars used by Q towers. If you get new bars, you'll need new clips to fit the bars to your accessories (kayak saddles, boxes, bike rack, etc). If you get a car that has rails, but no crossbars, it's the same.

If you get a car with rails AND crossbars, you'll just need to get the adapters for your accessories.

Clear as mud?

OR if you find someone giving away old SST towers, you can drill through the bottom plate and bolt them onto anything :) Q towers have plastic bases though. :(

This is a cheap option if you end up getting a railed car, and you have the round bars.
