It should.  The HDI transducers are a little larger than a standard transducer, but the HDI transducers were on the market when Lowrance & Hobie worked together on this addition to their lineup.  I haven't tried one myself, however.

The hdi transducer does not fit into a Jackson scupper. At least not flush or with modification.
What a great ff though.

I have a lowrance elite 5 hdi on it way to me. Will I be able to use the supplied transducer or will I need something different for the factory Hobie P/A transducer mount?

I have the Elite 5 HDI on my 2013 Revo and the Hobie came with all the necessary hardware to mount the Lowrance.
Works well for me finding those structures. You just need to play around with it and fine tune to your fishing style.

How big a Ah battery are you using and have you had enough time to get a feel for how many hours of life the ff has on that battery.

It uses about 1 amp/hour so there's your baseline.

Thanks Bill. I understand that's what the specs say but real world usage varies it seems. A prior poster in this thread had a 7HDI running between roughly .25a and .75amps. I'm just picking brains, averaging things out, so's to make a somewhat educated battery purchase for my 5x HDI that'll be here Monday. I don't want to squeeze a schedule to get in the water the following Saturday for an opener at a local lake. Allen's article helped a bunch understanding the battery issues and gauging size. Actual amperage draw is still somewhat of a guess. At this point it's likely a 12Ah battery.

I just rounded it out, my elite 7 hdi is below 1amp.  I Dont keep it on once I'm in my fishing area/spot so I cannot tell you how long the battery will last for certain.
