Will do our best to answer questions folks might have in this thread...

Here are the highlights:

Ticket Sales: AlsHobie and the lovely Sara (Saint of Circumstance) will be selling tickets throughout the morning. Look for them set up with a table and chairs. Buy tickets early and often!!! We have a ton of great prizes that people have donated so PLEASE buy tix!! :smt004

Prize Drop-off: G-Whiz Glen will be available to receive prize donations and will keep them safe and sound until raffle time. We will be working on organizing prizes (figuring out what order to call them in, grouping smaller ones into packages etc) starting at 12 noon so need them before then!!   :smt001

Potluck set-up: Andy FishMaster1 is the Potluck chief. Any questions, concerns, help needed etc look for him and he can direct his muggles to get you straightened out.  :smt002

We need tables and pop-ups for potluck so bring em if you got em!!

Raffle: We will shoot to start at 2pm.  I will be doing the speaking, G-Whiz and fuzz will hand me the prizes and Mooch will draw the lucky tickets. People who win a prize and are not there will have their ticket taped to prize and I will take it home with me (unless you have a buddy there who volunteers to take it for you etc).

Clean-up: We ALL should do our part to pick up and leave the area looking like we found it.   :smt008

Getting fired up!!

Jim

I had a list of questions, and now they are all crossed off! Thanks Jim!

I'll be with Jim I. from SoCal, we'll be there in time for the potluck & raffle, and know I know to go to Al for tickets, Glen for prize drop off, and Andy for potluck drop off, and to perk up once Big Jim comes on the Mike. perfect!

Hey Jim: Will we be able to do some paddling?

I plan on paddling...I have paddled every year and don't plan on making this year an exception. Figure if we start early we can get some prizes sorted, and then sort the rest after the paddle.  Will do our best to start by 2pm, but it can't start without us so...  :smt002

REMINDERS ON PRIZES:

-If you win a prize you don't like, take it anyway and just say something like "come see me if you want this prize" when you come up to get it from me. If you don't take the prize, the raffle drags on too long (BTDT) and some people have a long way to drive home that night. Also, the interaction you get with someone who might want the prize you just got can be really cool. The first time I met Raydon was when I went up and traded him the PFD I had just won, for the dive watch that he had just won.  :smt004

-The main goal of the raffle is to raise $$. Thus we have decided (every year) to allow people to buy tickets even if they are not there to collect their prize. So far we have over $1200 in pre-sales!! A LOT of this is $$ that would not have come in for Mooch if we did not give people the option of "do not have to be present to win". Sometimes some of the coolest prizes go to someone who is not there. Just a reality. Don't be bummed, and don't be sad. Know that that person donated to the cause as well and be stoked that they were willing to help out even though they could not attend the party.

Can you win more than once, say you bought 2 tix?

Also, do you know what time Al/Sarah will start a ticket booth? We are thinking of squeezing in an early fishing and will join the fleet once they're out for the buoy paddle. I don't have PayPal so I can't buy early.

Yes. You can win as many times as you have tickets. So buy a bunch of tickets so you can win a bunch of prizes/have a bunch of chances to win the grandprize!!

Al and Sara should be selling tix by 8am, but you can buy them after the paddle as well. Raffle won't start until 2pm at the earliest.

I'll cover the land based operations and man the fort while you guys are out paddling; was just planning on chilling with Joel on shore, while taking in all the joy of the event... there will be other times for me to be on the water....
