You know, I had my bachelor party at LDP.  Should have seen the divorce coming Bill!  :smt044

Always thought my ex wife was the cause of the curse!

Thats settles that... I'm never going there, and if I do, I am damn sure not bringing my wife.

Shoot Al, that's f'd up that crank failed like that!
I've always noticed that there is a bit of flexy feeling when pushing the pedals.
I consciously try not to hammer too hard on that flimsy aluminum.
Gonna put turbos on 2moro, and I'm now gonna be even more careful.
Especially when pushing hard to keep up with others in areas where logs etc. are lurking under the surface.

That sucks Al.  But I found this more interesting than a broken mirage drive...

Tony, you saying you haven't had turbo fins on since you got the Hobie?  Dude!  I didn't put mine for the first few trips and then installed them to see if I could tell the difference and its like night and day man.  You're going to love them.

Yeah Jeff,
I never really thought I would need them, since when trolling I only go like 1mph! And, it always seemed plenty fast.
But, now I just want to see what all the fuss is about. I did add the sailing rudder last year though, major handling improvement in the salt.

Hah, Tony you crack me up!  :smt005 I too admit to waiting a long time (years) before upgrading, but you have had those for a while now! Just remember, you displace more water with turbo fins, so you actually dont have to pedal as fast, just with a little bit more effort.  Start out slowly... dont just jam on them right off the start! :smt002

I had my Outback for almost 4 years before getting my turbo fins.  This is what convinced me:

I went trolling up on Lake Pillsbury in the early spring... the only other watercraft on the entire lake was a guy in another outback.  We ended up trolling side by side shootin' the bull for a bit, when I noticed he was having to pedal about half as often as me while still staying right with me.  I asked if he had turbo fins... he said yes.  I bought mine the next day.
