I have a friend that makes his own biodiesel for his personal and work vehicles about thirty now. I guess he's saving some dough by now. I've also had customers roll up in cars running on straight veg oil needing service. We only work on big rigs and trailers.

I started driving part time for a biodiesel company. We collect about 3000 gallons a week all over NorCal. By January we hope to be at 6k a week so our partners in Chico can get there biodiesel production online. Our trucks run on strait veg oil, cost us about .19 a gallon. The worst part about bio is that the state won't let you commercially sell it. There is a few pumps but they are on a experimental basis.
I can't believe biodiesel is considered an experimental fuel, a diesel engin was designed to be ran on peanut oil. Petro diesel was invented after. Also The first patent on making biodiesel ( transesterifaction of veggie oils the same way it's made today) was in 1937

F250 with the 7.3, has 450,000mi on it too. Did the head gaskets once and it might need a set of injectors next year but its driven 10hrs a day 3days a week on avarage.
We're still building an Isuzu cab over with a 1200 gallon tank and two 300gallon totes should be ready soon.

One of the problems is that there hasn't been a new refinery built since 1976.

I can only imagine how much would cost gas if Chevron or any other oil company will build new refinery  :smt010

I think the oil guys and there politician  friends will always find excuses for high taxes and prices.

You don't think Chevron will pay for a refinery do you?   People buying their gas will and it won't be cheaper. When gas is $10 a Gal. We will buy it.
