Forget the cortisone shots. Short term relief, especially since the twins won't allow you time to heal.

why didn't the A work?

My fat ass felt suppy tippy in it.  I was not comfortable at all.  I just felt tippy man.  I feel solid on the 4.7 in rough conditions.  At Albion I was like no way am I going to do this.   Maybe just to narrow.  I am kinda tall so maybe that't it.  The rudder also kept coming out of the water too.  Tippy + No rudder + big seas + hung over = not a good day to be out on a brand new rented narrow little yak.

Now the Revo at PIF,  felt solid.
Still I would go with the AI  :smt002  IF you want to do some sailing as well at least.  Dont forget, you have outriggers in the AI  :smt003  Talk about super stable, with just one outrigger out you are about as comfortable as you can possibly get on the ocean.  It now takes me a few mins to get used to my X-Factor after using the AI so much rently  :smt044  Yeah, it's narrow and a bit tippy without it, but you get used to it.  The Revo however is a drier and more stable as a standalone craft.  Either way, sorry to hear you have to join the "DarkSide"  :smt009 :smt003

IF you're arthritis is bothering you, I would recommend the Revo.  Its lighter and easier to load and unload.  The new rubber handles on the 2012 models make it even easier to move around.  I have owned both an AI and a Revo.

Cortisone is in.   Shaving the spur down is an option.  He said to get a Hobie.  Sending a pm to newfish.  4.7 getting cleaned up to be sold.  4.7 includes a non functioning hummingbird 385 color fish finder thar is still under warranty.  What price should I put up the 4.7?  Bought it in January.

Won't power up.   Blew a fuse and after that would not power up again.  Not battery related.  I need to pull it and send it in.  I have another one NIB waiting to install, just no time yet.

That's how it went for myself...

had just found kayak fishing via an article by Spike,,,  got all amped up and was looking at anything that paddles...

Then, had a 35' ladder land on me during a fire and broke my left shoulder...

Shoulder surgery sucks, even on a good day, rehab was brutal, saw the Hobie...

Thought it was a "Cute" concept, but would not last a year... didn't care...

Etienne blew his shoulder out last year on a 15 mile paddle out of Moss to the Pajaro. He rested it over the winter and did rehab and is almost 100% so you may not need to get a Hobie. He did start using a carbon fiber paddle which helped as well as gradually getting back into it.

Etienne is a strong paddler and he damaged himself trying to keep up with a hobie.  So that's sort of a hobie advertisement right there.  Looks good for trolling too.  MUST RESIST, MUST RESIST

Right on Don.  I'll be joining you soon.

I imagine my shoulder is nothing like yours.   That sounds brutal.

In my last volunteer dept they never trained on ladders.  The department I was on before this last one did thank god.   Ladders are a great tool but super spooky.  If you care to share on how the ladder fell, shoot me a pm.  Just curious.

I'll consider the AI too I guess.  Might make for some fun at the lake this winter on windy days.

If you can afford an AI, get the AI. The only reason AI owners sell is to get newer AI's. Like Al said, the Adventure hull is fast but tippy but add 1 outrigger it becomes the most stable kayak OTW and my favorite big game boat. Add the other outrigger and sail and it just too much fun.

+1 on seriously considering the AI. I've been using a Revo for 3 years and just recently tried my buddies Adventure. Wow what a difference. So much faster than the Revo. As far as getting used to how the primary & secondary stability feel when you're on the kayak that's the same when going from most any kayak to a new kayak. My Revo felt a little squirrel-y coming from a shorter but wider Cobra but I got used to it in a couple months or so. Watching Al throw his wsb's on the tramp while using one ama alone made we want that option. Someday someone is going to bag a double triple of 3 wsb & 3 halibut. They better have an AI with tramp.
