Maybe it's just me, but it needs a way to clamp steady during use.  My hand slipped once and I ended up with a nasty cut.

+1 for sure.  I know it's just a matter of time before I fillet myself open.

Besides that, if you have a blade that's damaged, that sharpener will just sharpen the damaged spots so you end up with hills and valleys instead of a straight cutting edge.

May be ok for a quick sharpen between honings, but I think there's nothing like good ole sharpening stones if you really want a nice edge.

Yeah, I probably should take the time to learn how to use a stone.  I'm uneducated and thus that's why I use the HH.

I'm going to be out at the show all day Thursday, but I'll be going back back and forth from the track. I got invited to a BBQ at the barn and to watch my buddy qualify a couple of his horses. Between Yakhopper, Ricci and myself hitting up the vendors for donations I think we are going to make a big presence  :smt003

FYI
If you guy's want to save some $$ for dinner......

Thursday, the track serves a lasagna dinner for $3 after 6:00pm (free admission Thur-Sat after 5pm)

Sat is dollar night for hot dogs, beers and soda's.

and if you need a tip on a horse let me know ;)

We did good this evening thanks to Gary's tips!  Will post a report later.

Alan, what about it was disappointing?  It has been billed as the largest ever (and I realize it is relative) Sportsman show in Northern California.  That and I always here how the Sac show is far superior to the San Mateo show.  Man, now I'm kind of down although it won't stop me from going.

If anyone is looking for discount coupons to ISE.

http://www.sportsexpos.com/dsp_discountCoupons_SAC.cfm

I'm looking for a coupon to print out and take with me but the only thing I can find on the ISE website is a list of places that carry discount coupons.  I'd prefer not to have to go to a store and pick one up.  Anybody know of a site where I can print out a coupon?

looks like I'll have to bail on this trip - feeling under the weather. Anyway, if you plan on shopping, please remember to support those shops that support NCKA  :smt045

Yeah, guess we are out as well Joel.  Thanks Sonny for giving the report.  Really hoped it would be way cooler this year in sac... :smt012
