I can't make it on the wknd. Want to go either thurs or fri evening.

But, will most likely fish the Port(or somewhere close) from 8:30a+- until 12noon.

Want to drift the AR but have to make a b'day party in the Bay Area that afternoon. :-(

If anyone wants to go to the ISE on one of the weeknights just PM me!

I am going on Sunday with the kids, we usually go and walk through, eat the fair food, and then hang out in the kids corral area. They got some pretty good stuff there for the kids.  I think the show is a joke, unless you are buying a big ticket item, or looking to go on a trip and hire a guide.  Other than that, I just go from booth to booth and get free stuff they hand out.  :smt044

Don't buy the miracle $25 knife sharpeners, either.  Ripoff.  And dangerous.

If any members are going to the show I just got the call from the boss that I will be there Thur. thru Sat, so please stop by the Fisherman's Warehouse booth and say hi. I will be mostly working the booth but will occasionally visiting with factory reps to help secure future sponsor of Kayak events.
Sorry Futhel,
Not real sure about using the gift cards at the show since they are monitored through the main Comp.
I will see if there is anyway to make it happen for you but can't be sure till I get there so bring them with just in case.

See Ya there,
Eric / Yakhopper

I'm going to be out at the show all day Thursday, but I'll be going back back and forth from the track. I got invited to a BBQ at the barn and to watch my buddy qualify a couple of his horses. Between Yakhopper, Ricci and myself hitting up the vendors for donations I think we are going to make a big presence  :smt003

FYI
If you guy's want to save some $$ for dinner......

Thursday, the track serves a lasagna dinner for $3 after 6:00pm (free admission Thur-Sat after 5pm)

Sat is dollar night for hot dogs, beers and soda's.

and if you need a tip on a horse let me know ;)

I bought the Hunter Honer at the San Mateo ISE a couple years ago.  It came highly recommended by several luminaries on this site and I'm pleased with it.  In fact, I need to break it out soon because some of my knives are not slicing and dicing as they should be.

It's looking like it will be me and my 3 and a half year old daughter attending on Saturday.  In order to appease her, we'll be making trips back and forth between booths and the doc dogs.  We'll also probably make out way to the children's section.

Hi dilbeck,

Maybe it's just me, but it needs a way to clamp steady during use.  My hand slipped once and I ended up with a nasty cut.

Besides that, if you have a blade that's damaged, that sharpener will just sharpen the damaged spots so you end up with hills and valleys instead of a straight cutting edge.

May be ok for a quick sharpen between honings, but I think there's nothing like good ole sharpening stones if you really want a nice edge.
