First WTTM RawYak, I am glad you are experiencing the same feeling I had when I found this fellas..hope to fish with you soon,

Secondly...I can tell most of the guys here fish SALT they can only tell the difference between Canary and Red, :smt005 dont ask anything about LM SM, guys the ones on the pics are neither are LM or SM, These are called Spotted Hybrid, seriously Spotted hybrid are becoming common in CA waters due to species co-exist in same body type of water, not to mentioned CA is so diverse even fish adopt :smt044

Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.

Uh, actually I don't fish the salt all that often.

And what identifying features lead you to believe that this is a so called "spotted hybrid," mister expert!

You guys are trippin...it's clearly a black bass!
 :smt005
Nah, but seriously it isn't a smallie. And it's not a spotted hybrid because that isn't a real fish... :smt002

It's hard to tell if it's a LMB or spot w/out seeing the dorsal. If it's two dorsal fins were connected and it had a rough tongue, then it's a spot. But if there was space between the two dorsals and it had a smooth tongue, then it's a LMB.

Nice fishin guys! Thanks for the report & info Rawyak--those are nice crappie! And "Bienvenidos a la Locura!"
