Well, now it's starting to sound like a hookup!  :smt003

I think we can take a chance and go for the boat in camping, or just stay at Motel 6 :smt044

Al and Joel, I'm going there this evening. If a guy is in the kiosk I'll ask him what the situation is. You guys said it is first come, first served?
If that's the case I could get you guys a spot, either tonight, or tomorrow.
It is going to be a busy weekend.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

You may want to look into camping over at Point Reys from Nicks cove in Tomales. You have to get a permit in advance at the ranger station then cross from Nick's cove. It's a little tough to do anything last minute this weekend.......

Well, I think were gonna go for Mendo ;)

Juan, if you do have the time to drop by and convince a ranger to hold us a boat in site, that would be quite awesome!  If not, no biggie, will just roll the dice when we get there!  :smt003

Worse comes to worse, we can get a room in town for the night and hit up the lake on Sunday with ya all  :smt006

Either way, WERE GOING TO MENDO!!!   :smt003

Hey Al, are the drive-in sites all taken/reserved?
If it comes down to a boat-in site, if it's first come, first serve, I can possibly snag you one tomorrow morning. I'll know more about the whole thing after this evening.
When were you planning to come up?
I'm headed there in an hour or so.

Yeah, I already called the ranger, and as of Monday the drive in spots were taken.  But, like you said, boat in is FCFS!  And they are only 8 bucks a night!  There may be two boat in options, I was looking for what ever is closest to a launch I can use to get there ;)

We were going to plan on leaving around 7am Saturday, be there around 10:30-11.  But, if we knew we had a spot, we might just leave tomorrow instead, but wont hit the road till 5PM.  With traffic, probably get there still after sunset.

So I goes to the north end of the lake to find out that the whole north end is closed to camping, on both sides of the road.
I know that boat-in is open for business, I just don't know how available they are. I do know people were camping there last night.
Al, let me know if you are around this weekend, we could still hang at the lake.

Thanks for checking it out Juan!  Were gonna shorten the trip, leaving tomorrow and hoping for a paddle in spot, or find another place to crash  :smt044 then back at it on Sunday!  Going to leave as early as we can, 6 or 7 to be there before noon!  :smt003
