Cool, I am bringing a black 5 gal bucket with black lid that will be aerated so we can get a bunch of minnows and keep them at the campsite.

I've always just used a white 5 gal. bucket.  Is there any benefit to using black, other than to heat the water if left outside.  Maybe I need to paint mine?

I figured it would keep it darker inside and keep the bait calmer? I will try to keep it in the shade and covered to keep it from getting hot.

Never thought about keeping it darker inside, good idea.  I can't imagine heat will be an issue in March, I was just speaking in general.  Look forward to your report.

I always keep my minnows in an ice chest\cooler to help with the temperature. They all seems very happy in there. Just my .02

Jeff,

I just stayed Konocti Vista which is in the same area.  Check the rates vs State Parks.  With the Budget crunch and Arnold defunding SPs, some Parks are charging a lot more than private campgrounds.  I think Konocti Vista has an RV park/campground.

the place has otters,,,,keep the lid locked on your plano bait buckets, if you put them in the water overnite, or you'll be wondering WTFaulkHappened?!
I've wondered that a few times before figuring out that they are SMART!
Good luck(you wont need it) and check the creeks and inlets around camp, they'll be looking to bed.
Reports are 10' clarity, so if you see tullies out in the middle of lake(campgrounds have many like this)= GO LOOK and see what's hanging around it. :smt007

Wish I was goin Jeff, your gonna tear them up! CL campground has tons of sites right on the water, some are on the main body and others are along a backwater you have to paddle down to get to the main body, I prefer the big-water side, specially for the night fishing. Bring lots of repellent too, its probably too early but that place had the worst 'skeeters Ive seen outside of the Everglades, better safe than sorry.
Some nice rocky points going south from camp.
