I will be leaving early Friday morning and planning on camping Friday and Saturday night. Will be fishing around this area. I will be reserving a campsite next week if anyone wants to go in with me. If anyone wants to carpool along with me let me know. I could probably get 3 kayaks on top of my car. If anyone has a preference on a certain campsite let me know as well.

I will be bringing a campstove and a bbq along with all sorts of good food you guys are welcome to as well.

I have a pretty unlimited WAF account right now so I pick and choose my destiny for now until her business picks up and I don't have to pay her bills anymore  :smt004

I may try night fishing if I dont go solo and the weather is decent

Jeff-

I'd be all over that invite if I were going on a boys weekend out. Night fishing that place in the spring and summer time is a trip solo. Lots of things going bump in the dark.

State park is good just paddle outside as soon as you pass bouy go the left there is a creek in there, I always do good on that area, the other on is M&M campground, keep moving around its always a good spot for LMB during early spring, bring roboworm size 6" straight tail (MMIII) gomagatsu ewg hook size 2, dropshots set up is your best bet in there! try the speed trap delta craw color... good luck!!

:smt004The lake record cat fish was caught and released a month ago at 35+ pounds.   :smt010  the crappie are finally comming back, they are just starting to bite at different spots on the lake.

I live in cobb, work in clearlake.  Stay at the state park and paddle to the now defunt Konocti bay resort for fishing.  good eats is angle's rock house in Finley, Mexican.  also try Woody's in Kelseyville Lumber, Excellent food and they also have some fishing supplies.

let me know the dates and I will try to join you for a day

Can you launch directly from any of the campsites in State Park or is it better to use the available boat ramp?

Its showing all the campsites for that weekend are walk-up only, first come first serve, so it wont let me reserve a campsite. Any ideas?

Campsites 58, 59, & 60 in the Kelsey Cove camp are "lakeside premium campsites". They cost a little more but are right on the lake. Some of the other sites are very close and you could still launch from them with a short carry or cart. I have launched into the creek from around site 32 or so. This is dependent on how high the water level is to the top of the bank. Also you may have to paddle thru alot of vegetation to get down the creek. Some of the ones that back up to the lake would be better. I would not recommnend the Cole Creek camp because it always seems like the mosquitos are thicker there. jim
