I just signed up for my first ever foot race.

sure it has beer involved, and it is completely for fun and charity, and everyone gets a participation trophy..

but its my first race.  time to start upping my distances daily so I dont look like a total doofus.

10k.  join me Paul!!  6.2 miles.

I am not a runner.  I don't think my knee can take distance running.  I prefer 100-mile bike riding.

Yin Yoga. Unbelievably relaxing.
I heard great things about Yoga, but never participated. I might have to give it a try.

Paul

Regular yoga is a workout, Yin yoga is easy, and more relaxing. I do both once a week.

My wife and I hiked the Marsh Creek Trail and Cook House Loop today.  It was almost 7 miles long and took us 3 hours.  Very relaxing and quite a trail to hike.  Both of us enjoyed the trail.

Marsh Creek Trail and Cook House Loop
Length: 6.8mi
Elevation gain: 984ft
Estimated time: 3–3.5hr
Loop

Mendocino Woodlands State Park has a vast network of dirt roads and singletrack trails for non-motorized recreation. This loop starts on the Forest History Trail and quickly picks up the Many Gulch Trail to head north. Take extra caution when crossing Camp Road and head south on the Marsh Creek Trail. Follow that to Big River, but make a sharp U-turn before getting all the way to the river. There are several trails you can take back; this route uses the Forest History and Cook House Trails

my wife loves to hike.  I should go with her more often.

the perfect answer to your question Paul.  buy a 9' salmon rod, a 3000 spinning reel and go SURF FISHING!!    its a derivative of what you love anyways.  a surf perch is decent eating.  perfect for drying.
