UPDATE: 4/24/2024

Catching up with registration but the event is starting to fill up. We have a good line up of events for the day. We will be adding two seminars from 10-1 p.m. for those who want to partake in the festivities but don't have a kayak or just want to learn more about Kayak Fishing.

1) Halibut Fishing Seminar (TLA)
2) Kayak Fishing 101 MooMoo Outdoors and Drew

We will also be provided with Music from DJ Sonny V from the Frisco Crabber Guys. Looking to add a few additional vendors to get a more festive feel for the event. Been trying to build up this event over the years for something everyone can enjoy -- Fish or no Fish.

Hope you see you guys all there! --TLA

Is there a decent/reasonable hotel near the ARW that my gear and kayak would survive the night? The kayak would be in the back of my truck, I could put a lock cable on it for the honest people. Should I look for a ground floor room and just unload everything?

I don't know if sleeping in your truck is an option for your but that's what I do sometimes.

I have no issues sleeping in my truck, to be there early on Saturday. I was hoping to head over Friday morning and fish til the wind picks up, then get a hotel Friday night. I may have to look a little further out, for a hotel or campsite.

I booked a room in Walnut Creek at the Diablo Mountain Inn. They stated that they have had 1 theft in the last 10-15 years and I can take my kayak in the ground floor room, facing the parking lot.

I plan to fish Friday morning prior to the tournament. Let me know if anyone else will be fishing the day before?

This year the tournament will officially start at 7 a.m. and will be completed by 1 p.m. We have a robust event schedule through out the whole day for all those attending (Fishing, Hanging out, or Seminars)

I will arrive on site between 5:30-6 a.m. to set up. Registration will be from 6 a.m. - 7 a.m. in order to facilitate the inflow of contestants. Anglers are allowed to get on the water as soon as they are check in but no fish may be entered or retained before the 7 a.m. start time.

Anybody  near  a bait shop  where  they  can pick  up some extra frozen  Herring  or Chovy?
Nothing  available  for  me within  30+ minutes? Otherwise  I'll try to jig some  up  or go with  lures.
