Gradients are really a PITA to reproduce properly. That is the main issue with the current logo. So I think Skys 7-9 are out on a technical issue. The look great though! The blue versions are great and good for reproduction.

Thanks for all the logos everyone, they are awesome!

I like Sky's Logo #13 but with a different font.  IMO the font should not be all caps, but should allow the N C K and A to jump out for legibility.  For example: "NorCalKayakAnglers.com" rather than "NORCALKAYAKANGLERS.COM".

It's easier to read when it isn't all caps in my opinion.

Good work people... lots of talent here.

I like the lettering on the first (top photo) but I LOVE the second photo (below) over all  :smt007 Awesome job skygreen  :worship :worship :worship

IMO: Nor Cal is about great scenery and big swells....so a little of both would be cool to see in our logo  :smt002
oh...and showing a few more kayak anglers on the background would be nice too. It simply shows how we practice "safety in numbers" AND it also shows "camaraderie at it's best"  :party

Gradients can be tought but you can substitute a smear when silk screening for a similar effect.

Sky,

Would you do me a favor, and whip up the following?

1) Use the color scheme/layout from your #16 logo.
2) Use the non-outline lettering, as seen in your #12 logo
3) But use a larger type face for the  for the appropriate "N" "C" "K" and "A",  as right now, it's just the first "N".

Thanks,
Scott

Might be right for silk screening but the sticker guys I have spoken too say it can be tough. Also more $$$$$ in either case.

I really like the guy with his rod going Bendo from logo #9 and it might be cool to have 2-4 more guys in the background all going bendo.

Bill,

I just knocked mine out late last evening after Chuck posted his comment about the "cool, simple image in Hojoman's avitar.  So I thought about sacrificing the realism of a picture to think up more of a catchy, symbolic logo that would tie together the main elements of our sport--fish, kayaks and fisherman--with name recognition.

Since it seems like most lean toward a pictorial logo, I won't tweak mine further unless I get further input that people want to go in this direction instead.

Skygreen thanks for that design. The only thing I would change is to have the main person also have their rod bent.

The only people I have looked at for shirts are online places. Contrary to popular belief I am not rolling in dough so off-line guys that require a minimum order of 100+ shirts are not something I am excited about getting into right now. I don't want to be stuck with 100 XS shirts etc... I generally order 2-3 at a time and I have not found a place that is willing to do that other than the online folks.

Thanks Sky!!

Bill, for the time being, my vote is for logo-17, as is. While I'd be more than happy to go with all three rods bendo, I kind of like the fact that one of the kayakers is paddling, and not fishing.

Are you going to have a run-off vote?

Regards,
Scott

FWIW... it like it better with the larger guy in the center paddling instead of fishing.  Kinda like he's racing to the striper boil at mendo.

I also like what could be done with Marmite's stylistic type logo.

Might be fun to just throw down the gauntlet and have a deadline for anyone who's interested to submit a logo for consideration.   Limitations being X number of colors max.  No gradients.  Specify resolution.  Etc.

I'd offer up a gaff for the winner.
