I know...I know...but this is a new age brotha! We're having a baby shower/BBQ on Sunday with all of our friends. I'm not really sure what to expect but I WILL be BBQing some goodies and drinking cervesa...so it can't be that bad, right?
(-;
Good luck at The Kiln, guys! And don't forgeet to check out all the baby steelhead in the creek, just above the bridge to the ocean sites. Very cool thing to see.

That does not sound too bad but not as good as fishing  :smt044 .  I never saw a report from you for last weekend.  Did you ever get out?

Head-high waves were breaking right on the beach last wknd at The Kiln. Did not look hospitable. We did see two guys launch a zodiac on Sunday AM though...from the far right side of the beach. I could only imagine what the return landing was like though.
Weather was great though, nice and sunny. We had this couple with us that are from Missouri and they kept commenting on "how awesome and beautiful" it is there. It kinda reminded me that it is a special place; something that can easily be taken for granted when you've lived here most your life.

Would love to join ya'll down there on Saturday but I am gonna stay close to home and fish Carmel or PG.

Good luck guys. And don't forgt the gate combo in case you get there early!

I agree with the outlook for fog as it was wet this monring in Monterey.  I doubt that it will be right on the deck but it can be that way nithe spring.  I will drive down from Seaside leaving about 5 or 5:30 so I should be there by 7 or so.  As long as the waves are not as big as PK described last weekend it should  be ok.  Sometimes the far north end of the beach has some relief from the breakers.  If it is questionable, I will hail you on ch 69 before I decide to bail back north or head to Mill Creek as a backup.

PIGEON POINT TO POINT PIEDRAS BLANCAS TO 20 NM
838 AM PDT FRI MAY 11 2007

-.SAT...NW WINDS 10 TO 20 KT. WIND WAVES 2 TO 4 FT. NW SWELL 6 TO 8
FT AT 7 SECONDS AND S 2 FT AT 14 SECONDS. PATCHY FOG.
-.SAT NIGHT...NW WINDS 15 TO 25 KT. WIND WAVES 3 TO 5 FT. NW SWELL 6
TO 8 FT. PATCHY FOG.
-.SUN...NW WINDS 15 TO 25 KT. WIND WAVES 3 TO 5 FT. NW SWELL 7 TO 10
FT. PATCHY FOG.

Its been really foggy the past couple days, especially in the AM. Definitely bring GPS if you got it.
I wouldn't sweat the wind prediction too much. It was forecast to be 20-30kts last wknd but never felt that bad….maybe on the outside or up towards Pt Lopez it'll be that windy. But otherwise, I think the steep slope of the coastal Los Padres mountain range provides a little protection from N and NW winds. The predicted mixed swell sucks though; could create some big sets and maybe a sleeper wave or two.
But, in the words of Rob Schneider, "YOU CAN DO IT!"

Good luck to everyone. The wind should be calm at the early morning. If you go north, coming back with NW wind should be doable. Be safe.

Sounds like it will be a small crew.  Maybe just me and JTF but we will fish tomorrow in the fog.
