I think is some kind of industrial oven back in the days...

If anyone needs a campsite Saturday 5/12 you are welcome to use mine. I will be fishing Stillwater on 5/11 on my way down and Limekiln on 5/12 but going home Saturday night. Didn't realize 5/13 is Mothers Day and I dont't want to take a big hit to my WAF this early in the season.

I will probably join the outing that weekend if weather and surf cooperate. I prefer Kirk Creek for camping now that we are entering the high season.

Just a couple Lime Kiln facts for those interested. The old kilns are still present up the creek from the campground. It's a nice hike. Better yet is the waterfall (a separate trail in the same area). The falls are a spectacular surprise. Must cross the creek a couple times to reach it. Not sure how that would be this time of year. I only visited it in summer. A third and happy fact is that ranger Garcia is gone!! Transferred to another park in the mountains.

Shoot, I would love to go, but doubt I can find a place to camp on the 11th.  Maybe I could just make the drive in the morning. What time and where do you guys launch from? Is  it a hike to get your equipment to the water?  Any non surf launch options? :)  This would probably be the first time I hit the ocean before the derby, if I can make it, and suppose I need all the practice I can get :)  Try and talk my friend JohnHog to go as well.

kirk creek camping is first come, first serve camping. They might have a camp spot open friday night.

I planning on going, but I don't know if I have the days off from work yet.

Ah, is this the launch site?:

Kirk Creek eh?  It seems like a gamble for first come first serve camping, but reservations are full everywhere else.  What is the likely hood of getting a spot?  Long drive for me to have to turn back.

Worst case senario is sleeping the back of the truck up Nacimento rd.

Yeah, there's Andrew Molera, Plaskett Creek, and Kirk Creek campgrounds on the coast to try for a spot. Then there are a bunch up Naci Rd that will undoubtedly have vacancies.

Got a spot for Friday!  Still one left even.  But if anyone needs I am more than willing to share the spot :)  I probably wont make it till late, 7-8pm getting off of work, but I may get down earlier.  Trying to convince a co-worker to go too.  Now I just have to find the rest of the fishing gear I need, should be all set.

James

If the wind and swell lays down a little, I am in for Saturday. I will be fishing Stillwater or MBK on Friday on the way down. Did you want to launch from Limekiln or Mill Creek on Saturday? I will be camping at Limekiln bit either works for me.
