I'm camping/kayak fishing at Limekiln the wknd before (May 4-6) so I will try to provide a decent report. I made the reservations THEN realized its Cinco de mayo wknd. So most of my fishin buddies will be busy that wknd...oh well their loss!

I may able to get the WAF up in time for this.  Sounds like a great time.

Looks like the new regs closed some of the Big Sur area to bottom fishing. Anyone have details whether the Limekiln area is closed.

Same Weekend as the CSBA at Mendo
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

If it were'nt for these new rf regs, I would definately hit Mendo insatead.
BTW, is likekiln even open still May 11?

Mooch, Im leaning toward Mendo, I think we have titles to defend for ncka.
So that means I still have a site paid for, for the weekend in Limekiln, anyone want it?
Ill find out how long I have to cancell and get $ back, but now its up for grabs.

reserved campsites at limekiln become a rare commodity startin in may.  i wont pass this up.  Ben, i'll give you a call.

i heard some bad things recently about ranger garcia at the end of last year.  Dont know if the guy was correct but he said he was on a guided trip with brendan and they got turned back by garcia.  This was in late september.  Doesn't seem right.   jtf..

Assuming the weather and surf are OK, others are still going and Limekiln is open to fishing, I will take Big Sur over Mendo since I have already paid for my campsite and can fish Mendo year round. I won't fish Big Sur solo for safety reasons so if everyone is going to Mendo, I would like to know before making the 3 hour drive to Limekiln.

Thanks Scott

I'll be there no matter what....  unless of course nasty weather sets in.  You have up until 48 hours before checkin to cancel... just in case.

As far as I can tell, Lime Kiln (a State Park with good rockfishing in Big Sur) is OK as far as the regs and new closures go.  I live close by but will take over your reservation if no one else does but it sounds like it may already be spoken for.  That park is one of our families favorite spots to camp down there because of the beach and killer redwood canyon etc.  In any case I will be down at least one day for fishing with whoever shows up.
