Hey thanks all. Yes, it was a lot of fun. I believe after my last outing a lot of you folks said I'd finally get one when I least expected. Well I certainly didn't expect it then! My only wish is that I'd got it at the top of the first instead of the bottom of the 9th, then we wouldn't have a freezer full of blues and blacks now! I prefer to take just enough fish to eat fresh for a couple of days. I know, I shouldn't be complaining but I wouldn't be English if I didn't.

No, I don't think the chumming helped! It's amazing how hard it is to throw up properly from a sitting position. Altho' if anyone wants any tips I can help you; I've had a lot of practise.

Ravensblack; yep, I'm going to be up there next weekend trying for #2!

Congrats on your first yak ling , excellent pics , what a head on that thing . Too bad you got to yakking on the yak ! Don't sound like fun , hope you had some fresh water to clear the taste .

Got sick one time while abing , we were going out quite a ways and I sort of half rode my float tube , won't make that mistake again ! One of these days I'll finally get a yak , hope I don't have sea sick issues then.

How did you feel after landing the ling?  Did the queasiness diminish at all? Or were you still "done"

I forgot aaaaaaaallllllll about it. In fact I forgot about everything except the Ophiodon elongatus, I just wanted to get it home and in the pan. On the way home I kept wondering why I was so thirsty?. Took me a long time to remember it was probably because I had spent most of the morning throwing up.

FYI - Scopace patches are great for sea sickness.  Many on the boards use the pills with great results (my doctor did say the pills also contain something that will make you drowsy).

Congrats again.

Way to go on the LING! and sticking it out...

I feel you on the chumming :smt078.  Last time I was out I felt real bad I almost yakked, even though the dramamine was in the system.  I think I need to start on the patch and see how that goes for my next outing...
