So I got a new cart the "wheeleez beach cart" but the wheels that it comes with now are not that good
seems that they have gone with this new PVC wheel instead of the polyurethane wheel that some of you have
this wheel don't hold air as good as the old wheel. Dave got one about a month ago and we had to strap
a pump to it because it just wont hold air + I think this thing will have a hole in it in no time  :smt010
so I plan to get the old wheel that they still offer.

just thought I should worn you that when you order the cart it wont be the same as the old ones.

That's strange.....we just got ours last week and they came with the ones you have pictured as the "good wheels". Old stock or did they go back to the original wheels?

After talking to Sean about what wheel to get and then doing some research, I found out that Wheeleez had experimented with the "bad PVC-wheel" but it got such bad reviews that they switched back.  I believe that Wheeleez was manufacturing the "badwheel" themselves and they could do it for less $$ that would have filtered down to the price, but because of such a poor response, they switched back to the original tire that is manufactured over seas.  Apparently they ran the "badwheel" for about a year and have been back with the "goodwheel" for several months or so.

Do be cautious because any Wheeleez SALE with the regular Kayak Beach Cart includes the "badwheel."  Glad that Allen got the good ones.  Duane, complain and you may get somewhere.  Good luck.

*Note - even though they went back to their original supplier, the good non-PVC wheels still aren't exactly like the originals.  I hope it isn't an issue.

I built my own cart with some fat knobbies that seemed like they would be good in sand but they weren't. So I upgraded to wheeleze wheels just last month.

With info I got on this site I went for the new version of the "good" wheel.

Sean mentioned in a post a few months ago that the "good" old style wheel would soon be available again, as I live in Martinez a trip to wheeleze in Benicia was easy.

Without the info I got here I probably would have gone with the PVC one.

I'm really happy with what I've got.

Thanks

NCKA rocks.

yep I got this at REI because I had a coupon and some points build up it cost me 165.00 but I think I will talk
to wheeleez and see if I can trade up these have not touched the ground yet, and if not ho well I guess I will just
come out of the pocket because these wheels will not hold up with my kayak fully loaded with the bait tank
and a cooler full of beer it will flatten these wheels like you cant believe I can just see the wheels fallen off the rim  :smt010
I hate to complan but what the hell :smt005

Duane,

If Wheeleez doesn't swap the wheels return it.  REI has the best return policy.  They'll take anything back.

Great...  I have the crappy ones.  I've only had to use em a couple times and they worked ok, but I definitely see what everyone means about the load handling issue.

I hope they at least last thru the Elk trip.

Hey Duane,

You can still use the crappy cart at Elk, and THEN return the cart to REI for a full refund... REI will take anything they sold back, at any time, even if it is 99% worn out.  I think the only exceptions are shoes and skivvies.

I have the "bad wheels" and while they haven't given out on me they are pretty bad at holding air. Seems like a very slow loss in pressure. Have had them since Oct. last year and filled them twice. I haven't babied them so they're pretty durable IMO. Maybe not as much as the good wheels but maybe it's better I not know what they're like?

So I emailed wheeleez today but they have not got back to me yet. I will use the cart at elk
because I will be packing light.I hope wheeleez will exchange the wheels so I can be happy :smt001

but I know one thing I do not want to order a cart on line because it mite come with the same wheels  :smt010
I only went to REI because of my discount did not want to pay 200. dollars for this thing  :smt009
