I just bought a brand new set of Wheeleez for my wife's boat on the Monday before Elk. We ordered from Hook1 and we received them in just 2 days and they were the old style wheels! WTG Hook1!  :smt007

Danglin,

I submerged my wheels in the swimming pool to check for a simple solution like a leaking valvle core or valve stem.  While holding the wheel under water, there were no leaks and no bubbles.  I tried squeezing the tire and I got bubbles--from the center of the wheel.  There were no visible leaks from the tire, tire/rim mating surface, or valve stem.

I put the wheel upright on the step of the pool, completely submerged.  When I put weight on the wheel, by pushing down on top of the wheel, I got lots of bubbles.  The new bubbles appear to be coming from the center of the wheel.

I also filled the tires last last night and left my kayak sitting on the cart over night.  This morning I had two flats.  I will take photos to document the approximate leak rate.

To actually locate the leak would probably require over inflating, which would void the warranty.  When you meet with them, you might ask if they have a testing tank where they could actually test your wheels and inflate as much as needed.  If the wheel is two piece, the problem could be something as simple as loose bolts/nuts or a defective O-ring.

Whether the problem is the tire or the wheel, it would be great if Wheeleez would locate and correct the problem and then provide a fix that works best for all of us and the company.

I am going to wait until after you make contact before I call Wheeleez.

I haven't had a problem with losing air because of a leak. What I have noticed is over the last year the tires have expanded. I started with 3lbs. When I recently checked the air the tires were down to about 1 1/2 pounds. I inflated back to 3 lbs and the tires are much larger than before. I have two of these carts, one is only a few months old, and there is quite a difference in the tire size.  I believe expansion is why the air changed in my tires. If these tires are known to be defective, I would want them to be replaced.

If you're taking a headcount count me in please, Danglin.  I got mine from Hook1 just before the NCKA group buy.  I'd prefer to avoid dragging Hook1 into it if possible, because the service from Karen was was outstanding...  she even gave me the NCKA discount even though I was ahead of the group buy.

But if we need to put more pressure, (sorry) on Wheeleez I'm sure they would help in that regard.

Please count me in and let me know if there is anything I can do to help. My wheels are in mint condition... never used in the wild. I'm a bit sad about that. Thank you.

Danglin:

I just checked my wheels after this weekend and mine are pretty low.  This was also the first time I had used them.

Thanks for the effort!!!

OK....

I talk to a person named " Vern ", he seemed very concerned and said he would get back to me soon.

I was called 10 minutes later by the President of the company Peter Recih.

He was very concerned about this and had become aware of our " Blog " as of yesterday.

He explained to me that a while back, complaints were coming from the field about the expense of the carts and they were looking for a way to reduce cost, and there you have the PVC carts....

They soon realized that there was a problem with about 1000 carts in the field before they were able to switch back.

To make a long story longer,

He is very concerned about the bad wheels out there and wants to make this right.

All PVC wheels will be replaced but, the polyurethane wheels are more expensive and there will be a charge for the more expensive wheels. He does not know what that charge will be at the moment because everyone is in Salt Lake City for a show, but they will get on this one immediately.

The polyurethane wheels will fit where the PVC wheels fit no problem.

It's looks as though they are doing the right thing,

They are listening and watching.... :smt024

So, we should be able to get this worked out soon. :smt006
