I saw this back when I was still living in the Phil Islands...it was still Beta Max back then :smt002

Anyway, it's a great flick (oldie but goodie) - rent it if you can. I have a DVD  of it - let me know if you want to borrow it.

This was one of my favorite films for quite a while. Jean Reno simply IS Enzo; I love his free diving rescue of the trapped divers and his super cool car/trailer combo.
Incidentally the film is based on a real guy, Jacques Mayall, who was a consultant for the movie.

Matt, et al:

"Captain Blood" is a, possibly the, classic pirate film from the 1950's. Errol Flynn & Olivia DeHaviland, pre-Robin Hood. Lots of great cannon battles. It was once performed on radio.

"Countryman" is a very odd little film from 1982 inspired by Bob Marley's songs. Its sort of a "Crocodile Dundee/Romancing the stone" type of adventure, except set in Jamaica with a peaceful Rasta fisherman (who may have supernatural abilities) as the hero. If you are a reggae music fan the soundtrack is fabulous.

Winter time is the best time to watch the old flicks....why? Well, rock fishing is closed...the lakes are muddy from the rains....too cold for the high sierras (unless your Tote :smt011)....and I'd rather sit on my warm couch ,sipping my hot apple cider than freeze my ass off while waiting for some pre-historic fish to suck my shrimp and spit it out before I can set the hook  :smt013

Yes, I'm gettting soft  :smt009 the Mooch of the early days was much more active in pursuing fish :smt002
