Doing some research on FF's I came across this on Lowrances website oddly, pointing to a free map software.  Creates free maps out of your sonar logs?  Probably better for boaters covering more water than kayakers, but curious if anyone has been using it.

Lots of useful tutorials on YouTube with genesis mapping. I haven't uploaded any of my logs yet onto the site but do have some saved into my sd card. It's a great format for ones who fish obscure water bodies with no maps available or for those simply not wanting to pay for updates every year.

I didn't find much value in the Genesis maps for our near-coastal and inland waters here.  On my Hook Reveal 5, the GPS interface started lagging really hard after about 4-6 hours of Genesis logging and display (no lag if you just log but don't show the overlay).  Additionally, I didn't find them very accurate in anything deeper than 40' unless it was absolutely flat and calm.  Just my anecdotal experience.
