Getting mussels, getting hassled in Pebble Beach

I had an issue with a surfer who came out of the water at Rodeo beach who almost wanted to go to blows with me about taking mussels.  He said you can't take them inside Golden Gate Park which is incorrect.  I also called Fish and Game and confirmed.  This guy was really hot and ready for a fist fight over it.

Just to be clear—it is only legal to harvest mussels btwn Point Joe and Pescadero Pt (from North to South). The rest of the coast is off limits due to the Asilimar SMR and Carmel Bay SMCA.
Please don’t come here en-mass to cause trouble and potentially ruin this local spot.

I don't think you need to apologize for anything.  If anything you're allowing the members here to be more aware of those kooks if they choose to go pick some mussels in that area.  I don't think anyone was serious about doing a massive gathering there so those of you worrying, chill out!   .

DANNGG...I was once refused entry to a self-pick peach orchard because "you Orientals tear up my trees".  I was too young to call them out and just quietly left.
