My friend and editor at Western Outdoor News, David Hurley, mentioned the challenge his family is facing.  Grandma's dog.. Hurley may have to surrender to the dog to the pound.  I asked him to send me a couple pics and a paragraph for NCKA.   Hoping someone here has the heart and the space for a good pooch.

Hurley says:

Here is the information on our shepherd- would love for someone to love this dog- thanks for posting this

Jake is a 4 year old King German Shepard. He is bright, smart and loving. He is truly a family dog and insists on being in the mix. Jake is not aggressive or bothered by other dogs but will bark aggressively if challenged. He is great on a leash and loves long, sniffy walks. He rides well in a car. As is true in many dogs of this breed, Jake has mild-moderate hip dysplasia in both hips managed well by daily medication. Jake needs a home with a big pad in the corner where he can nap while keeping an eye on everybody in his family!

Thanks all and Merry Christmas!

Bushy,
Tell your friend to list the dog on a website called REHOME   https://rehome.adoptapet.com/  I had a very similar situation with a 1 yr old Shepard i inherited from an irresponsible kid in the family. Set up a profile for the dog on the site and had 20 hits in 4 days, it's a wonderful site and highly respected, they do deep dives on the people who want to adopt to make sure it's a fit.

Bushy,   We got our German Shepard from Golden State German Shepard Rescue a few years ago.  Maybe they could help find a home for this beautiful dog.
