Ended up just scoring a dozen twisttops at Sunnyvale Whole Foods for $72!!!. Yikes

I get it, I've had it, and it is delicious, but whoa.

Smoke Eaters on Almaden Exp *had* Elder on tap. No chance of filling a growler though. Maybe they'll score another keg, but you'll have to watch untappd to stay on top of it. Good luck!

$72 for a case of 12 is actually a pretty good deal, if it makes you feel any better.  That is the same price that Russian River Brewing in DT Santa Rosa used to sell it for, pre-pandemic. One of my local grocery stores used to sell it for $8/bottle, if they have it in stock. I wouldn't be surprised if it's gone up in price at both places.

It's also worth pointing out that Pliny bottles are larger than usual (probably half liter or maybe even larger). And it has more alcohol than a regular beer, and that usually affects retail price, too.

Well, now you have an excuse to plan a Sonoma Coast fishing trip. You can hit RRB on the way home. Pretty solid pub menu and I'm pretty sure they'll sell you that growler you seek.
