Who knows really what the motivation was for her continued posting, whether pathological or commercial...

As for me, I can empathise with Bill and the tribulations of managing adult day care, but the straw that broke my camels back was when she got all negative on dogs... I luvs my pups!

Freedom of expression doesn't apply here, she can write whatever she wants on her own site, but this site is as much Bill's as the wall of his garage - and he's as free to take down posts here as post-its on his own physicals walls.

Frankly I'd have banned her after she went accusing multiple unnamed folks of attempting infidelity.  That kind of crap might deter other women from joining our group, and some of our wives and children may have read that too and suffered some distress.  I use dirtier language around my boss than I do here, in an effort to make this a friendly place with a nice atmosphere - she was not conducive to that in the slightest.

 Being guilty of hurling stones at skygreen and now looking back on it, it seems that many of us may have attacked out of a protective mechanism. She was threatening the site and its members with our twisted legal system. When there is a parasite, you cut it off.
 Im as guilty as any for posting absurdities on a regular basis here but to bring destruction to the sites amazing energy is a firing offense in my book. With so many "floating"/ non fishing kayak sites out there, I often wondered how and why she ended up here.
 Now Im all for following the wisdom of Janice by allowing myself to slip back into the maddness.

Erik, she was an Internet troll who posted controversial statements to get reactions. I see this all the time on the university newsgroups. And I must admit that I probably did respond, as she had liked, to a couple of them.

The straw that broke the back was a riduculous article posted by the banned one about cyberbullying, hurting people's feeling and yes....lawsuits.  Nuff said

I'm sure it was  adifficult decision for Bill. But it was the RIGHT decision.
I was banned from a fishing website a couple years ago. Just because I had a pic in my signature that offended a few people. I won't repeat what it said but it was so ridiculously minor that it took me by surprise. (it was on a certain piscatorial sniffing website and my screenname was CenCoast_Angler if you wanna check it out)
At first, I was bummed. But then I went back and looked at all of my posts and saw how helpful and informative I was...and thought THEIR LOSS!
She was neither helpful nor informative. And a consistent rabble-rouser. Rabble! Rabble!

People often take websites like this for granted. And think they can post or say whatever they want, without repercussion. But it is the discression of the owner/admin. I am an active member of another fishing website that bans people often (they have very strict rules about posting regularly, non-bashing, etc) and it works great. Something 'the-member-formerly-known-as-skygreen' would not be able to comprehend.
Dang, and I was usually the one to stand up for her. Now I feel like a turncoat LOL!

So, did you ban all of her accounts? Because I believe she had multiple accounts (one for each personality! Ha!)?

I think that half the time Sky didn't realize why she was pissing people off. She's probably sincere about her love of kayaking, and some of her posts were useful. But there were far too many unnecessarily confrontational and critical posts. It reminded me of high school. In some of her first posts, she seemed a little flirtatious. Then, when one member posted a flirtatious response (no big surprise on a mostly male web site), she made a comment that she carries a sheath knife for that reason. No smiley face or other icon to indicate that she was kidding. To me, that was way over the top. I posted a response that it was the first time a member threatened to pull a knife on another member. You won't find that post, because like so many others, she deleted it later. Overall, I would say that she was enough of a nuisance to justify booting her. I am a member of other web groups where occasionally somebody gets booted. Like Sky, they are usually given many chances to change their ways. Like Sky, they are usually too oblivious to understand the complaints. Besides, many of them like to post confrontational stuff just so they can get a reaction from the group. Who needs that? Go do that on a political web site if you want an ulcer.
