Kayak fishing haiku

Sometimes as I float around in my kayak, fishing and looking at the scenery, I compose haiku poems.  On a recent trip on a day when the mountains were covered by brightly colored trees and bushes, my dry suit neck gasket tore, fortunately as I was taking off the dry suit rather than as I was putting it on. That inspired the following haiku poem.

Fall leaves drop from trees
My dry suit neck gasket tore
All things end with death

Does anybody else have any kayak-fishing-inspired poetry?

Oh man... love it.  I can sense the peacefulness, alone on a mountain lake, filled with rage. 

Sitting at my desk
Thinking of friends who would ask
Do you even fish

a quick tweak... LOL

RATS!  I though haiku might be another fishing location, not really bad poetry.

Easy peasy chicken dinner...with sleeve inside out, cut the cuff off.  Do not cut suit material but cut close.  I then put this cup from the shoulder side of the sleeve to harden the edge where I'm going to put the new cuff.  I put aqua seal around edge where I'm going to add cuff up to ! inch wide then I fold up new cuff one inch, place at edge then unfold it over glue.  I then add strong ish whatever you got rubber bands until satisfied with adhesion then remove all accessories and turn outside in to reveal the most excellent attempt at diy cuff repair, then I go fishing...

Not a bite for hours

I’ve replaced over a dozen neck gaskets, but wrist gaskets don’t wear out and tear nearly as frequently, so I’ve only replaced a couple of them.  However, it’s easy to replace either kind of gasket.  Kokatat has  do-it-yourself gasket replacement instructions at https://kokatat.com/support/warranty-repairs, and has also published some YouTube videos showing how to replace gaskets, such as .

Haiku is a great way to capture that vibe from the outdoors.  Lots of time sitting on my yak waiting for something to happen...
